Staying Healthy for Gym Haters

I’m a lazy person. Sometimes I have a good phase where I don’t eat too much and go to the gym, but this is once every few months and doesn’t last long. So luckily for me, there are other options to keep myself healthy.

  1. Sleep

Sleep is really important for your health. It makes your immune system stronger. With a stronger immune system, you are more capable to fight illness. Sleep is also important to improve brain function. While you are sleeping, you process information and learn from it, reinforcing the knowledge in your brain. In deep sleep, a lot of information gets saved in the long-term memory.

  1. Green Tea

Along with being an enjoyable and relaxing drink, the antioxidants in green tea lower your risk of getting cancer. Green tea slows down the aging process, and it helps your body heal from heart attacks. Green tea also helps you burn 70 more calories per day by speeding up your fat burning processes.

  1. Water

Staying hydrated is essential to good health. A normal human should drink at least eight glasses of water per day. Water helps your body to detox and boost metabolism.

  1. Go Gluten-free

Wheat is a grain that has been consumed by people only in the last 500 years. It is a product of century-long breeding and gene modification. The genetically modified wheat has nothing in common with its original form. Especially critical is the gluten percentage in today’s wheat. Fifty years ago, our bread was made with 5% gluten, and today, it composes 50% of a loaf of bread. So instead of eating genetically modified bread, a better option is to revisit the natural grains such as rye, spelt, and brown rice. While consuming grain once in a while does not harm you, there could be possible health consequences when it becomes a major part of your diet.

  1. Ditch the Dairy

Milk undoubtedly has its uses, but only for calves—not for humans. The protein mix Alpha-S1-Casein makes up 80% of milk from cows. This protein can cause diverse health problems like skin disorders, breathing troubles, indigestion and inflammation.

  1. Green Vegetables

All vegetables are full of health benefits, but a greater focus should be on eating green vegetables for superior health. Green vegetables contain high amounts of Chlorophyll. Chemically, chlorophyll is similar to human blood; however, it distinguishes itself by only one element. The chlorophyll molecule has magnesium in it, while iron is found in human blood. With fresh green vegetables, you can renew your blood within a few weeks.

  1. Other Stuff to Skip

You should also try to avoid meat, fish, oils high in fat, alcohol, caffeine and common salt. Snack foods like chips and cookies should be eaten in small quantities.

So even if you are not planning to go to the gym, these few changes in your lifestyle can highly improve your health. While you may not be active physically, be active in your health choices!
