Catching Fire, the sequel to The Hunger Games, is sparking excitement throughout the world.

Based on the books by Suzanne Collins, Catching Fire is about a young woman named Katniss Everdeen who has just come back from winning the Hunger Games, a competition in which kids fight to the death in an arena, in her dystopian world.

As she tours around the districts in her world she finds out there are people who are rebelling against the powerful and cruel Capitol, just like she did when she won the Hunger Games.  This creates controversy and chaos in the districts, but President Snow has a plan to send Katniss and other past victors into the arena again for the 75th Hunger Games to show how powerful he can be.

Of course, this only makes things worse, but you will have to find out what happens to Katniss when you see this movie in theaters.

With an amazing cast that includes Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Sam Claflin, and Jena Malone, you will be on the edge of you seat anxiously waiting for what will happen next.

This movie will make you laugh with scenes like Katniss’s first time meeting a fierce past victor named Johanna Mason, but will also leave you with tears running down your face when Katniss delivers a speech about her deceased friend Rue, who was killed in the first installment of the series.

In the end, there is a major reveal that will leave the audience in shock.  When I went to see the movie, almost the whole audience stayed in the theater discussing what just happened and asking when the next movie, Mockingjay Part 1 will be released in theaters.

The last book, which wraps up Katniss’s story, will be split into two parts and is said to be shown in theaters in late 2014.

For fans of the popular trilogy, Catching Fire is exactly like the book, with only a few parts left out that won’t affect the plot.  You will not be disappointed when you see this spectacular movie.
