Freshman year, although I was not at South during this year, was the first year I started swimming on the swim team. This year was terrifying.

There were so many new people and upperclassman and I was just a shy freshman. Even through all my shyness, this was still such a fun year on the team. I met some of my best friends on that team.

The next few years flew by and before I knew it, I was standing on the block as a senior. I can look back and think of all the best memories that I have with this team: Every senior night when we all cried about the seniors leaving, every hard practice that we complained about, but got through together, and every smile that came along with each and every memory.

I am so thankful for CB South for giving me this team and everything over the past four years that came along with it. I had been holding out hope for a long time that the banquet would still be able to happen. While having hope for the banquet, I guess I never really took into account that graduation might not happen for all of my friends and I.

Now we have no graduation, no end of the school year, no prom, and probably no swim banquet. This was supposed to be the best year of my life with my best friends, boyfriend, and all the kids that I have been going to school with since kindergarten. I always knew that the class of 2020 would be remembered, but I never thought it would be like this.
